1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using BeforeYouAgree ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service Does

BeforeYouAgree analyzes legal documents, terms of service, privacy policies, and contracts to identify potentially risky clauses and provide informational risk reports. The Service is for informational and educational purposes only.

BeforeYouAgree is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. No attorney-client relationship is formed through use of the Service. Reports generated by BeforeYouAgree should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional legal counsel.

3. User Accounts

  • You must provide an accurate email address and maintain the security of your password.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
  • One free account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits is prohibited.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Submit documents containing personal data of others without their consent.
  • Use the Service to analyze documents for the purpose of drafting deceptive or harmful contracts.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the API.
  • Use automated bots or scripts to exceed usage limits.
  • Upload malicious files intended to exploit our systems.

5. Free Plan and Paid Plans

  • Free accounts are limited to 3 scans per day, reset at midnight UTC.
  • Paid plans provide unlimited scans, document upload, and policy monitoring features.
  • Payments are processed by Razorpay. By purchasing, you agree to Razorpay's terms.
  • All sales are final unless otherwise required by applicable law. Contact us if you have billing issues.

6. Intellectual Property

The BeforeYouAgree brand, interface, and underlying technology are owned by us. You retain ownership of any documents you upload. By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to process it solely for the purpose of generating your reports.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that risk reports are complete, accurate, or suitable for any specific legal situation. Risk scores are approximate indicators — not legal determinations.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BeforeYouAgree shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or reliance on any report generated by it. Our total liability in any matter shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our sole discretion, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time from the profile settings.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
